This piece was originally a Soprano art song I wrote. When I was chosen for the New Cannon Project, I found gravitating to the art song, and decided to expand it for a three part treble choir. Paul Laurence Dunbar’s words about dreaming, and how it can be an escape from the world was very relatable to me as sometimes when it feels like you have a lot on your plate, you can dream and create your own world full of magic.
